St. Joseph’s Parish

St. Joseph’s SSVP in Bowmanville has 55 members and 150 families are served each month from the Food Bank at the Church. In addition, clothing, furniture and household wares are provided through the Value Store in Bowmanville, operated by the Lakeshore Particular Council.

Other services provided by St. Joseph’s conference include eyeglasses for children, backpack and school supplies, bus tickets for medical appointments and registration of children to attend one week free of charge at Camp Northern Lights near Haliburton. The conferences also assists people in signing up for government programs, and helps them with income tax rebates. At Christmas  over 200 people in the community are served a turkey, a food hamper and  gifts appropriate to the children being served.
