St. Mary’s Conference in Campbellford

• Last year gave out $26,000 in food vouchers. Distribution primarily through interviews at Church.
• Social Worker provided once a month for those in need once a month in separate area of Church
• Attend regular meetings of “Shelter Committee” at the hospital involving advocacy and assistance for shower availability in the arena and laundry voucher program for local laundromat
• Sponsored “Coats for Kids Program” along with Knights of Columbus this past year and provided 400 coats, mittens, hats and scarves
• Funded swim lessons at Camp Northern Lights
• Donor program for electric fans in summer and warm blankets in winter
• Provided emergency assistance for hydro and rent along with emergency shelter
• Monthly cooking classes for those in need of social interaction
• Community lunch offered twice a month at no cost with approximately 100 in attendance. It is funded by generous donations from the community and volunteers from SSVP organize, cook and provide local musical talent. In addition, any excess revenue generated through the luncheons is donated to the local food banks
